Does anyone else find it odd that a gallon of milk has 817 reviews on Amazon.com? Maybe it’s just me…

This is the best post I have seen in a while. As a musician, I TOTALLY agree with what he says. Too bad my dang music page is down right now, or I could provide examples. Anyways, here is one reason, followed by a link to the rest:

“Macs just work.

A musician wants to plug his guitar into an amp and know that he’ll be playing music right away. In a similar way, I don’t think twice about it when I plug a new device into my Mac. Within seconds my iBook recognizes it and my thought process isn’t interrupted with requests to install the right drivers. I don’t need to know how the computer is using the device, I just know that it is.

One click installs are appealing for musicians. If I need to install an application, all I have to do is drag and drop the icon into my applications folder. It’s that simple. I’m not asked to restart my computer, and a few seconds later the program is running. It works seamlessly and my Attention Deficit Disorder doesn’t have time to distract me.

I use my Mac for everything… recording bands in my home studio using Pro Tools, creating sounds and loops in Propellerhead’s Reason, writing articles for my website, designing graphics, organizing digital photos of my four month old daughter in iPhoto, and listening to a new band that I’m blogging about. I’m hard on my computer, yet I only need to reboot it on a weekly or sometimes monthly basis.”

I have to say that this would scare the crap out of me also.

Back in the day, I had about 20 Nirvana cds (most of them were bootlegged concerts), so seeing this almost makes me tear up. Not really. Well, sort of. Anyways, from the article:

City officials in Chicago have sent a message to a movie studio that hoped to help sponsor a Christmas festival with ads for “The Nativity Story” — There’s no room for you.
Worried that ads for the film about Jesus’ birth would offend non-Christians browsing at a traditional German Christmas festival, the city has asked the German American Chamber of Commerce to reconsider New Line Cinema as a sponsor.

A spokesman for the Willow Creek Association of churches, based in the Chicago suburbs, objects that barring “The Nativity Story” from a Christmas festival is like “celebrating Lincoln’s birthday without talking about Abraham Lincoln.”

But a spokeswoman for the mayor of Chicago’s Office of Special Events says the city does not want to appear to endorse one religion over another.

Just when you think the greedy powers-that-be cannot get any greedier, this comes out:

They are actually lobbying congress to make this official. Now for me, my apartment is not much larger than 600 square feet, but I would technically qualify, and I find it REDICULOUS that this could become reality.

This should come as no suprise to anyone. I have known teenagers that have smoked, and also had problems with drinking. It is no suprise that it is related. IT says that teens that smoke could be increasing there chances of having an alcohol usage disorder by as much as 50%. For the full story, click below…
