Ryan Adams "Love is Hell"
I have had this cd for a few years now. Originally released as 2 EP’s, it now comes as a single disc. I originally listened to this disc while driving to my grandparents house late at night in December of 2004, and now when I listen to it, it reminds me of that. The only thing, is that after listening to it, I think you would get a similar picture in your head: Someone sitting at a piano, playing and singing at night somewhere cold. I know that sounds random, but listen to it, and you will understand.
This disc reveals Adam’s heart and vulnerability all throughout it, and in doing so, reveals a bit of your own as well. It is mostly somber and mellow, usually resorting to a guitar, piano, and somewhat raspy vocals.
Overall, this is a great disc that will pull you into a world of love, loss, and to an extent, a bit of redemption. Please give it a listen!
