How to copy text from Snopes.com
Feb 22, 2008 Found Online
Ever been to Snopes? It is one of my favorite websites of all time, and I visit it frequently. In case you don’t know, they deal with de-bunking urban legends. For example, say you get a stupid forwarded email from your Uncle Bob. You know, that uncle whose every email has “Fwd:fwd:fwd:fwd:fwd:fwd:fwd:” before the subject? Yeah, him. Anyways, this website will get to the bottom of not only those kinds of emails, but also older Urban legends. One of my favorites is “if you shave the hair on your arm, does it grow back thicker”. Pssssst… it doesn’t.
Anyways, if you ever have tried to highlight text from their website, they have somehow blocked the ability. Well fear not, faithful reader. I have figured out how to do it.
- Click File -> Save As
- Save it is a website to your desktop (or wherever you want)
- Open the saved html file.
- Voila! You can highlight the text now!
I have only seen this on Snopes, but it is great when you need to set the record straight with Uncle Bob’s dumb forwards.
