Acoustic Guitars for Beginners

If anyone out there is looking to start playing guitar, here is a great list of 10 guitars that are good for beginners. I get asked a lot about what kind of guitar one should get when starting out. There is really no need to get a super fancy expensive guitar. Remember, you are learning. When you get good, that’s the time to get a nicer one.

The nice thing about this list is that it includes some 2/3 size guitars. Those are a bit smaller than a regular acoustic and great for children.

Here’s the list.

You know…this is the one thing I wished that I had learned when I was younger. I LOVE the acoustic guitar. My hubby can play but not me, and none of my kids have the desire to try. Figures! I’ve thought about taking lessons several times over the years, but each time something comes up or I talk myself out of it. Thanks for the list in case I decide to go through with it at some point. Ha, ha :)

it’s worth it! I started playing about 13 years ago, and it’s been awesome the whole time. It’s not too hard to learn the basics, so give it a try!

We homeschool and I am thinking about trying to talk my wife into both learning it herself and trying to teach the boy…I will remember this list when the time is right.

It’s one of those things that could really change someone’s like. Who knows, maybe you are homeschooling the next Hendrix!

i bought an Art & Lutherie two months ago and i’m having a great time with it. i am a drummer, so it’s nice to be able to “play” music (my drummer buds will kick me for that). i spent a few days shopping guitars and settled on the Art & Lutherie. It’s made by the same company that makes Seagulls and Godin electronics. The necks of the Seagulls I tried were pretty wide and thick and to get one with pickups was just outside of what I wanted to spend for my first guitar. Great list and info though!

if it’s made by the same people as the Seagulls, it’s got to be good!
