How did I miss this?
A few weeks back, I was driving home from dinner. I saw some signs that said “Amphitheater parking next left”, and it peaked my interest. You see, I have lived in the same area for about 13 years, and I have never seen anyone building an amphitheater. Keep in mind, this is about 3 minutes from my house, and I drive by it everyday on the way to work.
I decided to turn in and check it out. Fortunately for me, the gate was open so I snooped around. What I found was a beautiful amphitheater, apparently owned by Verizon Wireless, that looked very modern and nice:
When I got home, I looked up this new venue. It turns out that this is the outdoor home to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and there are some big shows coming up soon (Boston and Styx, Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots reunion show).
I just think its funny that I had NO IDEA that this was being built even though I live so close and pass the entrance every day.
