Movies watched this weekend (and my thoughts)
This long weekend made for a lot of movie-watching time. Here are some flicks I watched this weekend:
Vantage Point - This move got really bad reviews, but I actually kind of liked it. I enjoyed the story telling mode, but I thought they showed it from too many different points of view. Still, not as bad as everyone made it out to be.
The Omega Man - The is the 1971 version of last year’s I Am Legend. The main character this time is played by Charlton Heston. The story was a little different, especially during the 2nd half. The effects were on par for the time period, but the music was horrible. The 2007 version is a LOT creepier than this one.
American Gangster - 3 hours long, it tried to be another Goodfellas. It was pretty good, and actually held my attention for the whole movie. Goodfellas it’s not, but still, it is a good “rise and fall” movie.
First Sunday - I turned it off about 10 minutes into it. It’s not worthy of a picture.
The Great Debaters - Wow, great movie. Denzel Washington is a great actor, but almost everyone in this movie, including the actors I had never seen before, were great. This movie deals with a great group of debaters at an all African-American college in the 1930’s. This was the best of all the movies I watched this weeknd. Check it out!
Definitely Maybe - Even though it is a chick flick, and I am not a chick, it was a great movie. Ryan Reynolds is a great actor, and he did a great job in this one. It kept me guessing till the end.

I have only seen American Gangster. Denzel plays a really good bad guy (Training Day). Actually there isn’t too much that I ahev seen him in that I didn’t think was pretty good. He can carry a picture by himself.

I agree. My favorite Denzel movie is John Q. He is amazing in it.

Dang…you watched a lot of movies. I found time to squeeze in Wall-E and the last half of The Birdcage on AMC-HD last night.

I also found time to shoot off fireworks, grill out, exercise, and go to the grocery store. Other than that, there was a LOT of free time…

I really liked Vantage Point as well. I thought the way it was told was different than I had seen before and you had to pay attention through out the whole thing. Great Debaters was really good as well but I remember there being some part that lasted kind of long but it’s been a while since I saw it so I can’t really remember. I thought Definitely Maybe was so so. I was glad I only paid a $1 to see it.

I liked the Great Debaters the best out of all of them, but I agree, some parts were a little drawn out.

Did you ever learn to check your work? Typos galore, especially under Vantage Point. Ditto mackalicious… too many movies, kiddo.

Listen, Shanananananana, I’m just keeping you on your toes. Plus, spell check doesn’t check for grammatical errors, so it really is Firefox’s fault. Yeah, that’s it.
Too many movies? Impossible. I still went outside plenty of times. O well.
