7 Years Ago Today…

I was a senior at LaGrange College, and that Tuesday morning, I woke up to my phone ringing.  I was a little ticked off since it was a day where I had a late class, but it was my mom, so I guess it was ok.  She said “turn on your tv right now”. I said “ok, which channel”?  Her quiet reply was “It doesn’t matter“.

I turned on my tv just in time to see the 2nd WTC building get hit by a plane.  The minutes and hours that followed were like no other I had ever been through.  Classes were canceled, vigils were held.

Can you believe it has been 7 years since that horrific day?  A day that completely changed our country.

Do you remember where you were?

  • i can perfectly remember where i was. i was home trying to understand what kind of person who can do such horror and terror while trying my best to contact all of my friends who were in new york during that time even if i was too exhausted from work.

  • I was just thinking about this. I was also a senior at GSU and it was a blue-sky sunny day. I had just finished up a class and was on the way to eat lunch at Pizza Inn with a friend. The college building had tv monitors in the hallways and I remember looking up and seeing the Pentagon in flames. I had no idea about the WTC yet. We went to lunch and sat by a big screen tv and watched everything happen. I just remember thinking - is this really happening?
