Gas Station Madness!
I just got back from the gas station. Keep in mind, it’s 1 am right now. Here are some things worth mentioning:
The guy on the left was the “BP Crew”, as his nifty little vest said. He would direct traffic and then proceed to yell at you if you had a gas can to fill up.
Here he is again directing traffic. Notice the line of cars down the road. That was the line for gas at MIDNIGHT.

Overall, it was a pretty darn exciting time. Do I know how to spend a Friday night or what?!?!1
Did you get your emission test and a free 12 pack?
What are you supposed to do if you need gas for your lawnmower?
I’d probably just get up and go a 3am to avoid the lines…does that work?

IM not sure I get it… is it more packed than usual? It always looks like that out here.. esp on the weekends.
Gas however is never going to be under 3 dollars a gallon out here… IL has one of the highest gas rates.
Route 66 car show was in town… I should prolly go check it out.

It was much more packed than usual. First of all, it was midnight, and secondly, I had to wait in that line of cars for 30 minutes just to get some gas. That line was specifically for the gas station!
Was it like that everywhere? What was the reason for it being packed?

The reason is because at least in the part of Atlanta I live in, almost every gas station is completely dry of gas. Every now and then a station will get some of the cheap gas, and everyone flocks there. People are actually running out of gas waiting in line.
Here is a map of a lot of gas stations in Atlanta. Notice how clicking on almost all of them says that they are out of gas!
