In the market for a new keyboard?
The other day, I went down to the local Apple Store here in Atlanta with some friends. While there, I sat down at one of the computers on display there to look something up. When it came time to type, I had the chance to use one of the Apple keyboards that came out last year sometime. The experience was so good that I bought one on the spot.
Now, I know what you are thinking. “It’s a keyboard, right? What’s the big deal?” Well, yes it is a keyboard, but something feels different about it.
Apple is the best in the business when it somes to the design of their products, and that trickles down all the way to their keyboards. This thing is so rediculously thin, but feels VERY sturdy. How thin is it, you ask? Here is a shot from the side:

Seriously thin. And, notice the USB port. There is another one on the other side, so you can plug other USB devices into it.
Also, here is the view looking at it:

So you see, it has a really elegant look to it.
In addition to the design, the keys have a feel to them that is more laptop-like, but still different than what I had been used to. It’s hard to describe, but it just feels good.
So, if you are in the market for a new keyboard, I would highly recommend one of these. They work on Windows too, so don’t worry you non-Mac folks out there.

The kids would have that thing busted to pieces in a day!

I actually use the macro's for more web development than gaming.. since im one of the weird ones that use the arrow keys to game instead of the standard WASD. I chose the keyboard for its usefullness over its looks. Sure its giant.. but the macros alone are worth the price. Then you add a functional usb powered LCD screen to act as a notepad, clock, shows your music and lets you change playlists ect without alt tabbing from whatever your doing.. very much worthy.
If your looking for something more streamline and sexy, logitech makes that as well:

No function keys, lame. I would never buy one of their mice or keyboards. In my opinion logitech is the best for any computer.
I personally own a G15 Keyboard, It has an LCD display and 18 hotkeys that can serve as macro's

Yeah, you're into gaming, so it would not be a good option for you. But if you do a lot of typing, it really feels (and looks) great.
