My favorite new way to read a book

I am the kind of guy that doesn’t read too much.  I want to read, but I get so sleepy doing so, and I usually end up just not doing it.  Well, I think I have found a way to get past that problem.

Stanza is an app for the iPhone that lets you download and read books on your iPhone.   Here it is in the lower right-hand corner of my iPhone screen:

In Stanza, you can purchase and download books straight from the application itself, over-the-air.  My first purchase was the book Twilight.  No, I’m not a teenage girl, but everyone is talking about it, so why not.  So, I read the description and purchased it for $11.

From there, you can start reading the book.  Here is what it looks like on my phone:

You have the ability to adjust the font, text size, color, and a few other options.  Turning the page is as easy as swiping your finger across the screen.  I have so far been able to read while sitting at work, at home, or really anywhere else.  So, for reading on the go, give it a try!

    So how are you liking the book so far? I hope they make an app like this for HTC. I just got an HTC Touch Pro (which is absolutely amazing!)

    Can you read horizontally on the iphone? Seems like you could fit more text that way.

  • yeah, when you turn it sideways, it flips. It ends up being about the same amount of text, but it's a little easier that way.

  • Seems pretty cool. I kind of want one of those screens on amazon for the same reason. I hardly ever read tho.

  • Well, that's the great thing about it. You can make the font as big as you want. Not sure about one word per page, but I'm sure you can get close!

  • I have trouble reading the words on the page of a book, I can't imagine trying to read it on my phone. I'd have the text size set soooo big that only one word would fit on the page...uhm, I mean phone. Pretty cool Idea though.....
