Question of the Day: Beauty
What is beautiful to you?
In other words, what is it that you look at and just have a feeling that for that split second, all is right in the world?
For me, it’s when you see an elderly couple holding hands. Seeing 2 people, married for maybe 50 years or more, still showing signs that they are still in love; that they are still #1 in each others eyes. When I see that, it makes me so happy that those two people found each other, and they did what it took to stay in love all of those years. When I see love like that, it almost makes me feel guilty for have saying “I love you” to any girlfriend I have ever had; a few months or even a few years might equal being “in love”, but when you have been with the same person for a lifetime… THAT is love, and that is so beautiful.
So, now it’s your turn.
What is beautiful to you?

big juggs.
wow. classy.
…I agree with Clay, but I don’t think that’s the real Clay Aiken. Perhaps an imposter because the REAL Clay Aiken doesn’t like……….to read blogs.
haha, very true. I heard he is a fan of the “alternative”… you know, reading books and stuff.
Aside from big juggs (classy ladies only need apply, errrr men, since Clay is a fairy)……
I would have to say that beauty is in sacrifice. Not only Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, but sacrifice in general. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing someone lay down their life for others. Whether it’s a soldier’s funeral, the widow who gives unconditionally to her church, or a man opening the car door for his wife, to me, beauty is in the small sacrfifices, the big inconveniences and our willingness to serve one another in spite of how it may affect us.
A friend of mine did three tours in Afghanistan, he volunteered for a fourth and was shot and killed trying to save an Afghan soldier. He sacrificed not only for that one man, but for the ideals he believed in. That is beautiful.
Another friend of mine lost her husband 9 years ago to Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She now raises 2 children alone. She has greater faith than anyone I know, and gives more than 20% of her income, always believing God will provide for her, and He always has. That is beautiful.
Another friend of mine, always opens the door for his wife, stating that it’s not becuase she’s helpless, but because it shows her that he is always acting in her best interest. He says that the day he forgets to open that door for her is the day he willhave failed and shown her that she has moved down on his list of priorities. He always does it, even when it seems silly and inconvenient. That is beautiful.
you are so right with that. When I hear stories like in your examples, it shows that there are still people out there who put the value of others above themselves, and you are right… it’s beautiful!
wow!!!!! adam, i haven’t seen you in so long and you look GREAT! terrific job with the ragamuffin challenge. seriously. i was just over at MTAE’s blog and saw your little picture and almost didn’t recognize you. i know we only commented a few times many months ago, but i just wanted to say that you look wonderful.
thanks so much! Yeah, that challenge thing was the swift kick in the butt I needed to get out and to start running. I still have a ways to go, but at least I know how to do it. I’m glad you stopped by!
My husband, I love how he loves me! Each day when i come home & he hears me coming up the walkway, he opens the door, comes to take my backpack, pulls me close, gives me a kiss, tells me he loves me. I know if anything is troubling me, I instantly want to get home to just be with him & “all is right in the world?” I know how much Christ loves me everyday thru my husband. I use to think love like this was in fairy tales & I am glad I was wrong.
big tits round asses, forget the face that doesn't matter in the long run…
