What a difference a year can make!

About a year ago I decided to start getting into shape.  I knew I was a little overweight, but until I saw a picture from that time, I didn’t know just how big I was.  Here is a before and after for your viewing pleasure.  Click to see the full size:

I can honestly tell you two things.  First of all, I am disgusted that I ever let myself get to that point.  Secondly, I can’t believe that the person in the “before” picture is really me.

Seriously folks, it has come down to a matter of burning more calories than I take in every day.  And not even every day. On weekends, I don’t eat like I probably should, but I try and be good throughout the week.  That, and a little walking/jogging, and that’s it!

Thanks, Carlos, for the whole RagammuffinTop Challenge thing.  You just might have saved a life :)

RagamuffinTop Challenge Update

A quick update on the weightloss…

It’s been a few months since the final update of the RagamuffinTop Challenge I was taking part in.  For you newcomers, it was a weight-loss challenge where every week I was weighing myself and posting the results online for all to see.  In the process, I started to jog and eat healthier, and really make a lifestyle change.

Since the last update, I have continued to lose another 10 pounds or so, which is good, but comparatively speaking, only so-so.  I blame it on Thanksgiving.  But overall, I have lost right at 45 pounds, and I feel great.

Here’s a before and after.  All I have are pictures of my head, but it shows a difference:

Hey, I have a neck now, and my head looks a little less like a bowling ball!

RagamuffinTop Challenge week 17

At last!

Thanks again, everyone, for all of the support.  I am going to set a new goal now, and of course I will post every now and then as to my progress.  To all of you trying to make a change in your life, I hope I can serve as an inspiration to you!

  • Starting weight: 292.6
  • Last’s week’s weight: 259.6
  • Today’s weigh-in weight:  258
  • Today’s weight loss/gain: -1.6 pound
  • TOTAL +/-: -34.6 pounds

RagamuffinTop Challenge week 16

First off, I did not post my weigh-in last week.  I was out of town, and even though I brought my scale with me AND weighed in, I sort of just forgot to post it.  As far as the result, I gained 3 pounds.

But that was LAST week.  On to THIS week’s video (that has a small clip from last week’s weigh-in as well):

Really?  I couldn’t lose .6 more pounds?  Seriously though, I am so excited about this week.  I am really hoping that next week will be the one where I pass my goal.

  • Today’s weigh-in weight:  259.6
  • Today’s weight loss/gain: -5.8 pounds
  • TOTAL +/-: -29.4 pounds

This week was a pretty normal week.  Thursday night, I think I ate my weight in chips and salsa (with also a little wueso queso), so I was weak there.  But everything else was pretty good.  On to the weigh-in:

So I lost .6 pounds.  Hey, a loss is a loss.  I’m only 3.4 away from my goal, I will try and knock that out his week.

  • Today’s weigh-in weight:  262.4
  • Today’s weight loss/gain: -.6 pounds
  • TOTAL +/-: -26.6 pounds
