First off, the man in the picture looks dorky. He needs to decide between the t-shirt of the wife-beater looking shirt, but not both together.

Running shoes are fine with jeans, dark or light colored ones. In fact, any kind of shoe apparel on the feet is a welcome sight down here in the deep south.

I think it’s alright as long as they are EXTREMELY BRIGHT WHITE and you are wearing tapered leg black jeans or elastic waist tapered leg blue jeans.

Uh… That’s what I wear, like all the time. Running shoes are comfortable as are jeans. Of course, being a grad student, I’m barely considered an adult (or even a person) to begin with.

@patrickwitherow - Yeah, I would be wearing that right now at work if they would have told me we were doing the “casual” thing today. I’m the only one in dress pants!

@nandango - I think it’s kind of cute when girls do it!

@MTAE - So, maybe that means it’s just THAT acceptable. All occasions but weddings and funerals.

I am trying to figure out when those 1-9 rules DON’T apply. They seem to have everything covered except for weddings and funerals.

I don’t even own light colored jeans.
