10 Shoes You Should Never Be Caught Wearing

When it comes to footwear, I’m pretty simple.  I have my running shoes, my work shoes, and then flip flops for everything else.  I came across this list, and I have to say, I mostly agree with it.  For example:

Birkenstocks
Inconceivably comfortable or not, the idea of paying $100+ for a pair of sandals seems absurd; especially when those $120 sandals make you look like that kid you went to college with, who skipped class to smoke doobies and listen to “Dark Side of the Moon” backwards.

Buying comfortable shoes is important, and you should always be willing to drop a few extra bucks for shoes that your feet will enjoy wearing. But if you’re going to splurge, at least make sure the shoes you’re buying will make you look good. Never sacrifice style for comfort.

I once paid a LOT of money for a pair of those things.  They were so uncomfortable, and it blew my mind that people actually enjoyed them.  “O, but Adam, they eventually mold to the shape of your foot”.  No, they don’t.  They hurt.

Happy 7th Birthday, iPod

What were you doing 7 years ago today?  I was a senior in college trying to figure out what I would be doing after graduation.  On this day 7 years ago, something else happened.  Something awesome.  Something that would change the world.  Wow, I sound like a total loser!

Anyways, 7 years ago today, the first iPod was introduced.  And to plagiarize myself,

Apple introduced the first iPod. 5 gigs of storage promised 1,000 CD quality songs in your pocket. The Firewire port let you transfer those songs in less than 10 minutes, and it could even double as a portable hard drive. $399 would get you this little marvel (though it didn’t go on sale until November 10th) but you had better have a Mac. Why? Because, the iPod was Mac only.

How many iPods have you had in the last 7 years?

6 Baffling Mistakes Every Movie Criminal Makes

If you have ever een a movie revolving around a criminal or a group of criminals, than I guarantee you will recognize some of these.  These criminals always seem to make the same mistakes, so it’s no wonder why they almost always end up failing in the end.

From the list:

Working With Far More People Than Necessary

As Seen In: Oceans 11, 12, 13. The Departed, Panic Room, Bonnie & Clyde

Sure, they might not need a lot of people to pull off a job, but won’t the innocent bystanders be impressed to see a dozen dudes strolling into the bank in ski masks?

Wrong. Absolutely freaking wrong. First of all, let’s think of the motive that drives these characters. Greed. For them, it is indeed all about the Benjamins, and the fact of the matter is, the more people involved in the crime, the smaller the shares, and therefore less cash for everyone.

Second of all, with so many people in on the plan, the odds of getting caught rise exponentially. Hell, how many people would you trust with a secret that could send you to jail?

Worst Offender:  The Oceans 11 series

This only gets worse as the series goes on, and they have to keep inflating the roster and the size of the heist. By the fifth or sixth movie they’ll have enough guys to rob an armored car by just gathering around it and carrying it way.

So true!

Happy 3rd Anniversary, Mackalicious!

3 years ago today, my friends Mackalicious and Mrs. Mackalicious got married and I had the honor of singing in their wedding.  Here was my awesome setup:

Here was me and Mackalicious at the reception:

And finally, here is the happy couple leaving the reception:

As you can see, I have chosen pictures that can hide the secret identity of Mrs. Mackalicious.

Head on over to Blogging Pantsless and wish Mackalicious a happy anniversary.

Congratulations, both of you!

What Happens in Vegas…

I came across a quote this morning from Jeff Henderson at Buckhead Church that has been resounding in my head, and I want to share it with you:

“What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas your heart.”

Wow.  That has some strong implications if you think about it.

(RSS Readers: the second “vegas” has a line through it, and that might not show up in your feed)
