Use ONLY the iPhone for a week?

For the last week and a half or so, I have been the proud owner of an iPhone.  So far it has blown me away in all that it can do, and it got me to thinking… Could I go a week without using my personal laptop at home and just use my iPhone instead?  I have internet, the ability to post here, and email.  Sure, I can’t edit video, but for casual use, I bet I could get away with it.

I’m toying with the idea for now, but who knows…

How to Build a Computer

The How-to-Geek has a tutorial up on how to build your own computer. For anyone that has ever wanted to do such a thing, but had no idea where to start, make sure you check it out. Normally you can save money if you build it yourself, plus there is that whole sense of accomplishment from building such a device.

Part 2 is already up, but why not start at Part 1.

It’s official: HD DVD is dead, the format war is finally over

Toshiba just made a statements saying, “It will no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders.” As an early adopter of HD-DVD with my Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive and a dozen movies (all of which I have since sold), I was really rooting for HD-DVD. Not that it was better than Blu-Ray in any way. Come on, folks, it was basically the same quality. I guess it was more of an anti-Sony thing. Anyways, I guess that it is all over for HD-DVD now, so I will have to submit to Sony’s standard.

O well, it sure was fun, HD-DVD. I will cherish our memories forever.
