I got my first filling today

For the first time ever (28 years), I got a filling. I had gone to the dentist a few weeks ago, and they broke the news to me then. Well, today was the day that I had to go and get it. Luckily, it was minor, even to the point where they did not have to numb me, and the whole process took about 15 minutes.

Despite that, they still had to drill. It didn’t hurt, but I will go on record as saying that burning tooth shavings do not taste very good. Also, holding your mouth open for 15 minutes is not an easy task, especially once it starts to dry out.

Overall, the experience was not too bad. I hope this is the last time I have to go in for a filling, especially since from what I have heard, real ones take a lot longer and are more painful!

I Went to the Dentist Today…

42-17961467.jpgThat’s right, I did what many fear. I went to the dentist for the first time in about 2.5 years. Yeah, I know that is way too long to go without, but it has been a stressful 2 years, what can I say. Anyways, my run at having perfect teeth has come to a close after 28 years. That’s right, I have 2 cavities that will be filled next month. I have never had a filling, so to be honest, I am a little nervous about the whole thing. The doc said that they weren’t bad cavities, and that I would not need to be numbed, but still. I really don’t like the idea of someone drilling in my mouth if it is numb, much less completely aware. So, that was my day.

Now I am off to brush my teeth!
