An inspiring story… but read closer. WHAT?

There was a story yesterday on Yahoo news about the worlds most obese man. Basically, he was going to try and also hold the record for the most weight lost by a single person. He has already lost over 500 pounds in the last 2 years!
So his birthday is coming up, and he hopes to get out of the house for the first time in a whiol. Check this out:
Now weighing 717 pounds — the size of three hefty men — Uribe is still unable to move his swollen legs but hopes to get out of the house next month for only the third time in six years to celebrate his 43rd birthday.
He will still be in bed, hauled onto a tow truck for a trip to the mountainous countryside outside his home city of Monterrey in northern Mexico. It will be a rerun of a failed attempt in March that was thwarted when his bed hit an overpass.
Wait. What? His bed hit an overpass? Does that give anyone a funny visual in their head like it does mine? O well, at least he’s ok!
Why Man vs. Wild and Bear Grylls RULE

I have watched both Survivorman and Man vs. Wild. I always have leaned toward Man vs. Wild, even after the allegations came out that the host, Bear Grylls, at times would sleep at a hotel at night, and that some of the situations were “presented” to him. I figured that hey, even if the situations are set up, he is showing valuable information that can really help someone that gets stranded in the wilderness. Plus, he is the man. Look at what he has accomplished so far, and you will agree.
Well, I came across this article yesterday that proves my point. Set up or not set up, the show helps people. Take, for example, the kids in the story. What they saw on that show saved their lives, and to me, that validates it over anything else.

“State police say the teacher at Booth Free School barricaded herself inside a classroom Wednesday when she mistook someone singing a Guns N’ Roses song over the public address system for a threat.”
Ay ay ay… Who knew that Axl Rose could invoke so much fear? The whole situation is funny now that it is over. A custodian rocking out to some old school GNR, thinking no one is listening, then all of a sudden the cops show up? That is funny stuff!
‘No Santa’ school teacher axed

A PRIMARY school sacked a woman teacher for telling heartbroken nine-year-olds there is no Father Christmas.
Parents were furious when tearful youngsters went home saying they had also been taught elves and fairies did not exist either.
The supply teacher, in her 30s, had her contract terminated after complaints to the head. Mum Amanda Piovesana, 30, said her daughter was shocked to be told: “You are old enough to know there is no Santa or fairies. If you ask your parents they will also say there is no such thing.”
Amanda said: “It’s taken away the magic.” The mum of another pupil at Boldmere Junior School in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, said: “Everyone is disgusted.” Head Diane Thomas-Wood confirmed: “We have followed up the matter with the agency.”

So now for discussion… should we tell our kids that there is a Santa, knowing that there really isn’t, and they will find out anyways? Or, so we just not even ever teach them of Santa? Comment below…

I know some people are jerks sometimes, but did this guy really deserve this? Does ANYONE?

A woman in Fulton County, Ga., who was angry with her boyfriend when the pair went to bed over the weekend, poured gasoline on his genitals and ignited a fire, according to police.
Fulton County police said Bobby Thompson and his girlfriend Cynthia Covington had a fight Saturday morning and Thompson went to bed. However, Covington was still upset, the report said.
Covington then allegedly poured gasoline between Thompson’s legs and ignited a fire. Covington also caught fire, the report said.
Both were transported to Grady Hospital’s burn unit.
Covington was in critical condition Sunday night while Thompson was listed in stable condition.
Covington faces aggravated assault and arson charges.
