Microsoft Xbox 360 HD DVD Player Officially Discontinued
Feb 25, 2008 Technology, Video Games
It was only a matter of time before Microsoft officially discontinued manufacturing the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on, but it took them a few days longer than we expected. Their statement is finally out, and it signals Microsoft’s official withdraw from HD DVD on the console front.
I sold my Xbox 360 HD drive several months back, and I’m glad I did. It played HD movies, but it was a crappy player (at least mine was). So this is good. As much as it pains me to say, I hope Microsoft can adopt Blu-Ray and make a good, cheap player for the 360. I might have to pick one up then…

Taco Bell offers tacos for life for a PS3
Nov 21, 2006 Current Events, Video Games

Several gamers waiting in line over the weekend for a PlayStation 3 hoped to make thousands of dollars by reselling the console to those willing to pay extraordinary prices. One gamer, however, is guaranteed to make $12,500… though not in American currency. Taco Bell, the Chihuahua-led Mexican fast-food dealer, is offering $12,500 in Taco Bell bucks (which the chain considers a lifetime supply) to the first gamer willing to part with a new PS3. Taco Bell isn’t going to get its frijole-covered hands on the console; the chain is being donated to a Boys & Girls Club teen center. To donate a system in exchange for muchos tacos, send an e-mail to tacobellnews@tacobell.com.
The first to respond and send off a PS3 will win.

Sony has failed to deliver
Nov 20, 2006 Uncategorized

I guess you would call me an Xbox 360 “fanboy”. I have a 360, and it is an awesome video game system. With the new Playstation 3 that just came out, there is a lot of talk about which one is better. Personally, I am in the 360 camp, so of course I found this article to be great. It talks about all of the PS3’s shortcomings.
From the article:
“Howard Stringer, you have a problem. Your company’s new video game system just isn’t that great.
Ever since Mr. Stringer took the helm last year at Sony, the struggling if still formidable electronics giant, the world has been hearing about how the coming PlayStation 3 would save the company, or at least revitalize it. Even after Microsoft took the lead in the video-game wars a year ago with its innovative and powerful Xbox 360, Sony blithely insisted that the PS3 would leapfrog all competition to deliver an unsurpassed level of fun.
Put bluntly, Sony has failed to deliver on that promise.”
